Adhesives hold together shoes, furniture, packaging and cars; rubber keeps them moving. Both industries depend on the same families of resins and fillers, and both are growing in Türkiye. This note looks at the markets and the raw materials behind them.
The Global Picture
Grand View Research and MarketsandMarkets both put the global adhesives and sealants market at about US$77 billion in 2025. They differ on growth, with forecasts between 3.5 and 6 percent a year. One of the key ingredients, hydrocarbon resin, is a market of its own: Spherical Insights estimated it at US$1.87 billion in 2023, rising to US$3.63 billion by 2033, with adhesives and sealants as the fastest growing use.
Türkiye: Tyres, Construction and Industry
Türkiye's tyre exports set a record of US$1.89 billion in 2025, shipped to 155 countries, with Germany the largest market, according to TÜİK data reported by Ekotürk. At home, 23.2 million tyres were sold in 2024. Construction chemicals, which include tile adhesives and sealants, are another large outlet: İMSAD reports production of 9.2 million tonnes in 2023, 9 percent more than the year before, and exports of US$911 million.
What Goes Into Adhesives and Rubber
- Hydrocarbon resins C5, C9 and C5/C9 types, are tackifiers: they give hot melts and pressure sensitive adhesives their initial grab, and help tyre compounds process and bond.
- Rosin and rosin resins give tack and adhesion to hot melts, solvent adhesives and road marking paints.
- Phenolic resins reinforce rubber compounds and add heat resistance and bond strength.
- Polyamide resins and PVA binders are the base of hot melts, textile and wood adhesives.
- Carbon black and fillers reinforce rubber, colour it black and protect it from UV.
What This Means for Buyers
Adhesive and compound formulations are tuned to the softening point, colour and compatibility of each resin. Buyers need consistent specifications from lot to lot, and a supplier who understands why a switch from one C9 grade to another changes the product. Gültaş Kimya supplies hydrocarbon resins, gum rosin, phenolic, polyamide and PVA resins and carbon black from stock in our Çayırova, Kocaeli warehouse.
